Paediatric & Population-Based Dermatology Research
The Paediatric & Population-Based Dermatology Research unit is part of St John’s Institute of Dermatology and led by Professor Carsten Flohr, Chair in Dermatology & Population Health Sciences.
About us
We specialise in translational and clinical research on the prevention, epidemiology and treatment of skin diseases and allergies, with a main interest in atopic dermatitis, food allergy and psoriasis.
This is done through large cohort and intervention studies, such as the EU-funded TRANS-FOODS consortium, the TREatment of severe eczema in children TREAT trial, and the UK-Irish Atopic dermatitis Systemic Therapy Register.
Prof Flohr runs an annual national course on ‘Allergy & the Skin’ under the auspices of the DermAcademy.
