Biomap project
BIOMAP aimed to examine the causes and mechanisms of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis by identifying the biomarkers responsible for the variation in disease outcomes. By taking advantage of recent technical developments in translational medicine, the project drove drug discovery and improved direct disease management by combining clinical, genetic, and epidemiological expertise with modern molecular analysis techniques and newly developed tools in bioinformatics.
Our Head of Department, Professor Carsten Flohr, was a Principle Investigator in the BIOMAP project, leading on the harmonization of the BIOMAP datasets as well as skin microbiome analyses, using data from the EAT and COPSAC cohorts
